What are the advantages of a process based management system?

A process based management system views the organization from a process perspective and thus unlike a functional approach, it crosses functional boundaries, revealing the silos, walls or barriers which impede efficiency and effectiveness, in fact who does what is unimportant providing they are competent.

A process based management system derives its objectives from the organization’s purpose or mission and thus delivers outputs that serve the mission rather than serving departmental objectives.

A process based management system will identify the interaction between processes rather than the interaction between departments.
